Scholarships awarded to healthcare learners through Parkview Health Foundation

LOGANSPORT, Ind. - July 15, 2026 - Three aspiring nursing professionals have received a financial boost to their educational plans as they pursue their nursing studies this fall.

All have been selected to receive scholarships through Parkview Health Foundation as part of its 2026 scholarship program supporting healthcare education across northeast Indiana.

Logansport-area scholarship recipients include:

Parkview Logansport Memorial Scholarship -- $1,000

Avery Baldwin
A graduate of Caston Jr.-Sr. High School, Avery Baldwin was a National Honor Society member and a varsity athlete in softball and cheerleading. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) through Indiana University while serving a women's health internship at Parkview Logansport Hospital. Baldwin is already focused on the goal of delivering high-quality, compassionate care for women in the Logansport area as she follows her ambition to earn her certified nurse midwife (CNM) credentials.

Nathalia Hernandez
Logansport High School graduate Nathalia Hernandez has an extensive list of achievements in academics, sports, speech competitions and civic engagement. From National Honor Society member and class officer to cross-country athlete, Student Council member, speech and debate competitor, and participant in multiple community service organizations, she has developed leadership skills while supporting her community. Soon she will also complete three books simplifying medical topics for children. Having achieved her certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification, Hernandez also completed a stint of job shadowing at the Parkview Logansport Hospital Cancer Center.

She will attend Indiana University, working toward a bachelor's degree in biochemistry with the goal of becoming an oncologist. Hernandez is passionately committed to not only the idea of clinical excellence, but also essential human connection - making sure her future patients and their families will feel understood and supported.

Isabela Kirisits
Like Avery Baldwin, Isabela Kirisits is a Caston Jr.-Sr. High School grad who was a varsity athlete in cheerleading and a National Honor Society member. She attends Indiana University for her BSN studies and interned with the OB department of Woodlawn Hospital. She aspires to become a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) nurse or labor-and-delivery nurse and one "whom patients can rely on during their most difficult moments."

"These scholarships are an investment in the future of healthcare across our region," said Denise Andorfer, director, Parkview Health Foundation. "Through the generosity of donors and community supporters, we are able to help students and healthcare professionals continue their education and strengthen care for the communities we serve."

In 2026, the foundation awarded 34 scholarships totaling $104,000 to students and healthcare professionals across Parkview Health's service area. Scholarship winners are selected annually. Each scholarship is carefully managed by its own committee comprising Parkview leaders and foundation representatives, family members and colleagues of scholarship namesakes.
