Schedule updated for Data Center & Infrastructure Commission report

The City of Fort Worth continues its work to establish clear standards for data center development using the tools under the City's regulatory authority, aided by the research and evaluation underway by the Data Center & Infrastructure Commission (DCIC). The DCIC is currently examining electricity and energy use, water resources, land use compatibility, neighborhood impacts, and economic considerations related to data center development in Fort Worth.

The DCIC was originally scheduled to deliver a final report to the City Council at the Tuesday, Nov. 3 City Council Work Session. Due to scheduling conflicts, all City Council meetings planned for Nov. 3 are canceled. To maintain continuity in the DCIC's timeline, the City will hold a Special Called City Council Meeting Work Session on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. to receive presentation of the DCIC report.

In accordance with the Resolution adopted on Aug. 11, the first of the two required public hearings to advance the process for a moratorium on new data center development will also be held on Nov. 10. The public hearing will take place during the 6 p.m. City Council Meeting.
