Lane closures on US 51 in Marion County

PATOKA - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that intermittent daytime lane closures will take place on U.S. 51 from the Fayette County line to 0.1 mile south of Britt Road in Marion County on Wednesday, Sept. 30, through Friday, Oct. 2, weather permitting.

The lane closures are necessary for the evaluation of pavement conditions.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
