Keeping farming and farming safety a priority for generations to come

Summary

"Generations of Farming" a focus on National Farm Safety and Health Week 2025

Planning for the future, near or far, is always a priority for farmers. Monitoring weather, soil quality, equipment service needs and livestock health are only a few things agriculture professionals must prepare for. During this year's National Farm Safety and Health Week, American Family Insurance is raising awareness of long-term planning for farmers through life insurance.

Life insurance can be especially important for farmers and their families as farms and ranches are more than a business, but a life's work - and may be passed down from generation to generation.

"Life insurance is an important risk-management tool, similar to other insurances like crop, vehicle or equipment," said Todd Fancher, American Family Life Insurance Company president. "If families are looking to keep a property and business in the family, life insurance can be an important part of that planning. A life insurance death benefit payout could also be used toward expenses like livestock and crops to new facilities, equipment and payroll."

National Farm and Safety Week is a great time to review your life insurance policy, especially on September 24, when the focus is "Generations of Farming." Some things to keep in mind when looking for life insurance is tailoring the policy for amount of debt owed, annual income and income replacement needs and legacy planning.
