New work date to accommodate an FP&L Hardening Project
DAVIE, Fla. - Florida Power & Light (FPL) is undertaking an infrastructure hardening project to enhance the reliability and resiliency of its power grid in the Town of Davie. As part of this initiative, FPL will replace wooden power poles with concrete poles designed to withstand hurricane-force winds, reduce outages, and improve restoration efforts following storms.
The project will take place south of Griffin Road along SW 76th Avenue and will result in temporary road closure. Local traffic is allowed on the roadway. While the work is ongoing, commuters should not enter SW 76th Avenue from Stirling Road to go north to Griffin Road.

Members of the community traveling in this area should expect delays, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes if possible. Residents trying to access SW 76th Avenue from Griffin Road will be detoured to SW 70th Avenue (see detour route and map below). Trained flaggers will manage traffic flow to ensure safety for residents, drivers, and workers. Please obey the instructions from flaggers to navigate the area safely.
If travelling in the area, you should watch for workers, flaggers, and equipment in the construction area, reduce their speed, drive carefully in the work zone and adhere to the posted speed limits.
