Bartow, Fla. (Sept. 18, 2026) -The inclusive playground at Loyce E. Harpe, located at 500 W. Carter Road in Mulberry, will temporarily close beginning Sunday, Sept. 20, while Polk County staff address drainage issues in the play area.

The playground is expected to remain closed for approximately one month. All other park areas and amenities will remain open while the work is completed.

The temporary closure will allow crews to address drainage conditions affecting the playground area and help maintain a safe, accessible space for visitors.

Updates will be provided as work progresses and a reopening date is confirmed.
