City of Atlanta Announces Modified Solid Waste Schedule on MLK Jr. Day

All solid waste services will be delayed one day throughout the holiday week

ATLANTA - The City of Atlanta has announced that in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Department of Public Works Office of Solid Waste Services will not collect garbage, recycling, yard trimmings, or bulk items on Monday, January 19, 2026. As a result, all collection services will be delayed by one day throughout the holiday week.

Residents whose regular collection day is Friday, January 23, should place their carts at the curbside by 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, for service.

Regular solid waste collection resumes on Monday, January 26.

Residents in need of additional assistance can contact the City of Atlanta by dialing 3-1-1 (inside Atlanta City limits) or 404-546-0311. They may also download the Atlanta Solid Waste Services mobile app or visit https://www.atlantaga.gov/solidwaste to find their collection schedule.
