Aggrevated Assault on October 5, 2025

Incident: Aggravated Assault
Date: October 5th , 2025 @ 2:30am
Location: 4532 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd, Dunwoody, GA, 30338
On the listed date and time, officers responded to a person shot at Waffle House located at 4532 Chamblee Dunwoody Rd. The investigation revealed the following:
Five juvenile females ordered an Uber to take them home from the restaurant on the above date and time. The driver arrived and said he could only transport four of the five because he did not have enough room and seatbelts in the car. They argued with the driver about his refusal and who should cancel the trip with Uber. The argument escalated, one of the females threatened to kill the driver and struck him in the face while he was inside the car. The driver then fired a gun and struck the female who assaulted him. The other females told responding officers the assault, and threat, did not happen before the gunshots.
The victim, a 16-year-old female, was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and received treatment for her injuries. As of this release, she is in critical but stable condition.
The driver is 38-year-old Meredith Grundy. He was arrested and taken to Dekalb Jail for Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During a Felony.
