The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southern Underground Industries are responding to a damaged 24-inch sewer force main along NW 13th Street between NW 9th Avenue and NW 8th Avenue in South Middle River.
The emergency repair is underway as of Thursday, September 25, and it is estimated to take approximately two weeks to complete. Work is taking place around the clock until the repair is completed. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
The contractor is scheduling work and lane closures to minimize impacts on school operations at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. Intermittent noise from heavy machinery, equipment and backup alarms is expected. When work is taking place overnight, temporary lights will be used to illuminate the work area. The contractor will take measures to reduce light and noise impacts for surrounding neighbors.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and thank our neighbors for their patience during this repair. This page will be updated as the repair progresses.
