Notice of Public Meetings on the Housing Revitalization Plan - North Houston Highway Improvement Project

March 11, 2026

Categories: Public Notices

TSAHC is hosting a series of public meetings alongside AB Land Planning regarding the Housing Revitalization Plan that is being prepared to support the revitalization of four Houston neighborhoods impacted by the North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP), a multi-billion dollar transportation project that will expand and realign sections of Interstate I-45 in North Houston.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has tasked TSAHC with administering $28.5 million in grant funding to support affordable housing initiatives in communities affected by TxDOT's North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP). In 2024, TSAHC selected a consultant through a Request for Proposal process to develop a comprehensive housing needs assessment of the impacted communities and ultimately a Housing Revitalization Plan to guide the distribution of the grant funds.

TSAHC published a Community Needs Assessment from its consultant in early 2026, the first component of the Housing Revitalization Plan. The entire draft Housing Revitalization Plan will be available in late March 2026. The below meetings are being held in each of the four impacted neighborhoods to collect public feedback on the draft Housing Revitalization Plan.
