FASEB Signs Coalition Letter Urging Congress to Prevent Agency Implementation of Uniform Guidance

Thursday, November 5, 2026
FASEB joined national organizations and associations in signing a coalition letter to congressional committee leadership urging Congress to prevent federal agencies from independently implementing proposed revisions to the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Uniform Guidance. The letter highlights agency actions at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Agriculture (USDA), and other federal agencies that incorporate elements of the proposed revisions despite Congress's directive to delay implementation through December 11, 2026. The coalition urges Congress to strengthen oversight, extend protections in future funding legislation, and prevent agencies from circumventing congressional intent.
