Pickett Invites Residents to Join the Fight Against Human Trafficking

September 26, 2025

TUNKHANNOCK - Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) urges area residents to attend an educational seminar for awareness about human trafficking. With lives on the line and children facing exploitation every day, it is critical communities take action to protect Pennsylvania's children from this heinous crime.

The seminar will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Dietrich Theater, 60 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.

"How to Protect Your Children from Human Trafficking in a Digital World" will feature conversations with Wyoming County District Attorney Joe Peters, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday and Korrin Moon, president and founder of Lantern Rescue.

"In today's digital age, kids are being groomed and exploited online in their very own homes," said Pickett. "I hope parents, grandparents, educators, law enforcement and all who are concerned about this very real threat to our youth take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to protect their children from the dangers of human trafficking."

The seminar aims to boost awareness about human trafficking and educate parents, caregivers and others in the 110th District about internet safety for children. Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the nation. Families must remain alert and vigilant as traffickers constantly adapt with new tactics targeting their children.
