Man Charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide for Shooting Outside Clarksville Pike Market Sunday Morning

Jaylon Bullock, 31, has been charged with attempted criminal homicide for Sunday morning's shooting of a man at the gas pumps outside Little Barn Market at 3909 Clarksville Pike.

Bullock was taken into custody after surrendering Sunday afternoon at the urging of his father who drove him to the North Precinct.

The investigation to this point shows that the 67-year-old victim arrived at the market in a pickup truck with his teenage son. Moments later, Bullock arrived in a Ford Explorer. The victim entered the store while Bullock remained outside. When the victim returned, he and Bullock appeared to converse for several minutes with Bullock seated behind the wheel of the Explorer and the victim standing at the front passenger window. Bullock is alleged to have shot the victim from his seated position. He drove away immediately afterward. North Precinct officers responded quickly and rendered emergency aid to the victim, who suffered wounds to his stomach and backside. His son was not injured, although the pickup truck was hit by gunfire.

Bullock declined to be interviewed by detectives. The Ford Explorer was recovered from his family's residence. In addition to attempted criminal homicide, Bullock is charged with felony reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, and using a gun in the commission of a dangerous felony. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $425,000.
