The ADA Concierge Program Provides Personalized Support to Voters With Disabilities
HENDERSON, Nev. (Oct. 20, 2026) - The City of Henderson is proud to announce that it has received a Democracy Award from the National Association of Election Officials for its innovative ADA Concierge program.
Developed by the City Clerk's Elections team, in partnership with Parks and Recreation's adaptive recreation staff, ADA Concierge provides personalized support for voters with disabilities and other accessibility needs through scheduled appointments.
The program helps voters navigate the voting process, access accommodations and communicate with election staff while maintaining voter privacy and election integrity. Targeted outreach to senior and assisted living communities, along with American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during early voting, further expanded access.
In addition to the award, three members of the City Clerk's Office earned the U.S. Election Assistance Commission's (EAC) Certificate of Federal Professional Training, a national credential recognizing election professionals who expand their knowledge and skills. The EAC's certification covers election law, accessibility, communications, voting systems and technology, office administration and poll worker training.
"This recognition highlights the power of cross-department collaboration," said Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero. "We are proud of the team's commitment to innovation and creating a welcoming, inclusive and accessible voting experience for all residents."Designated ADA Concierge and American Sign Language (ASL) services will be available at Henderson City Hall during the General Election period to provide additional support to voters who may need accommodations.
