Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman paid a working visit to the Hellenic Republic on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, where he met with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis. The visit marked a reciprocal bilateral meeting during which the ministers confirmed the excellent relations between the two countries, founded on mutual respect and a strong partnership within the EU and NATO.
During the talks, it was emphasized that economic cooperation between Croatia and Greece continues to grow, particularly in trade and investment, while noting that there is further potential for deeper cooperation in the fields of energy, defence, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, IT, tourism, transport, as well as the food and wood industries. The ministers also exchanged views on EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, the situation in the Middle East, and the importance of continuing support for Ukraine.
Speaking on a panel at the Energy Security Summit, Grlić Radman highlighted the importance of strengthening energy resilience, migration management, and stability in the Western Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean. He stressed that cooperation between Croatia and Greece has been further reinforced through formats such as MED9, the Three Seas Initiative, the Friends of the Western Balkans, and the Quadrilateral format with Romania and Bulgaria.
As part of his visit, and on the margins of the Energy Transition Summit in which he participated, Grlić Radman also met with the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
As part of efforts to strengthen the overall partnership between Croatia and Greece, Grlić Radman also met with the Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament, Ioannis Iosif Plakiotakis, and the President of the Croatia-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group, Emmanuel Konsolas, with whom he discussed additional opportunities for cooperation between the two parliaments.
