DENVER - Throughout June, the Denver Auditor's Office is inviting residents, businesses, and other community members across the city to help answer one important question: What should we look into next for future audits?

The question is part of the #AuditDenver2027 community engagement campaign, which encourages Denver residents to share concerns, ideas, and observations about city programs, services, infrastructure, and public spending that may deserve a closer look. The Auditor's Office will consider this information when it plans audits for 2027.

Last year's #AuditDenver2026 campaign sparked community engagement about homelessness spending, city budgeting, parks, and city projects like 16th Street.

"Denver residents experience city services and programs every day in ways that help us better understand where accountability and transparency is most needed," said Denver Auditor Timothy O'Brien, CPA. "This campaign brings auditing closer to the community so residents can feel this process belongs to them as well."

Residents can submit audit suggestions with their name or anonymously by:

  • Emailing: [email protected].
  • Commenting on Auditor's Office social media posts.
  • Speaking to Auditor's Office staff at community events.

The Auditor's Office will collect community input from the campaign and review it alongside other factors used in audit planning such as risk, public impact, financial significance, and professional judgment.

"Your voice matters," said Auditor O'Brien. "Community feedback has led to us making significant findings and recommendations around oversight, accountability, and the effective use of public resources. I want to hear from residents about what matters most to them. It helps make Denver an even better place to live and work."
