Natural Medicine University Ribbon Cutting Remarks

Good evening, everyone and thank you for having me here with you!
This new campus is going to bring 400 students and 100 faculty into the heart of our city every single day. That's energy. That's foot traffic. That's people going to lunch, discovering local businesses, and becoming part of the fabric of this neighborhood. That matters enormously for Portland's revitalization.
Look, Downtown Portland is on the rise. A stunning new wing has opened at the Portland Art Museum. Both Bank of America and OnPoint Credit Union are opening new branches in the heart of downtown, just blocks from here. PSU is set to transform South Downtown with a new performing arts center and hotel.
Families are coming back downtown for shows, for the farmers market, for evenings out. And right now, Portlanders are gathering downtown to watch the World Cup together - celebrating, patronizing businesses, filling our streets with joy.
That's the downtown this campus is joining. And we couldn't be happier you're here.
The students trained in these halls will go on to provide natural medicine services to communities across the country - holistic care that meets patients where they are and treats the whole person. That's medicine the world needs more of. And in the future, this campus will provide essential health care services to Portlanders. Thank you for bringing that service downtown, where it will be central and accessible.
And to the students here, I hope some of you will love Portland so much that you'll stay. We'd love to keep you.
