A roundtable discussion with compatriots was held in Jeddah

On December 25, in the city of Jeddah, a roundtable discussion was held at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan with compatriots residing in the cities of Mecca and Medina by a delegation of our country headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev.

The event was attended by citizens working in international organizations, students and young scholars studying at leading higher educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, as well as compatriots engaged in various fields.

At the beginning of the meeting, congratulations were extended on the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Uzbekistan and on the upcoming year 2026.

Compatriots were informed about the country's entry into a new stage of development, the ongoing political and socio-economic reforms, as well as priority nationwide programs. Particular attention was paid to reforms in the religious and educational spheres, the preservation of national values, and efforts to improve sacred sites.

It was also emphasized that branches of leading foreign higher education institutions are being opened in Uzbekistan and that broad educational opportunities are being created for young people.

During the roundtable discussion, explanations were provided to compatriots regarding compliance with the laws and regulations of residence and activity in Saudi Arabia, followed by an open question-and-answer session.

Participants noted that, as a result of the ongoing reforms, Uzbekistan's international standing is steadily increasing.

In addition, the condition of 35 migrant workers employed in the construction sector in the Rabigh industrial zone by the Turkish company "AGCC" was reviewed, their appeals were studied, and relevant explanations were provided.
