Foreign Secretary Velasco and Foreign Minister Pérez Mackenna of Chile Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Deepening Trade

Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco Álvarez and Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna of Chile held a bilateral meeting at the Foreign Ministry.

Both foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continue strengthening the bilateral relationship, marking the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Strategic Association Agreement (AAE), a comprehensive framework that marked its 20th anniversary in January 2026.

They highlighted the importance of strengthening the Pacific Alliance, which Mexico currently chairs on a pro tempore basis.

Both delegations welcomed the modernization of the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and Chile, which will continue to boost economic exchange between the two countries.

These actions renew Mexico and Chile's historic ties of friendship, reflecting the strong understanding between two fraternal peoples and the shared values and common interests that endure over time.
