Fighting for Public Safety

Fighting for Public Safety

September 2, 2025

There has been a lot of talk of public safety in the news recently. And rightfully so!

Keeping our communities safe has always been a shared priority of mine and the people I represent. That's why I've focused on sponsoring and/or co-sponsoring several important measures this year to protect families, support law enforcement, and hold offenders accountable giving victims support and peace.

HB1140 & HB1467 - Would crack down on child predators by eliminating plea deals for grooming and strengthening penalties against those who target minors.

HB1468 - Would safeguard the personal information of first responders, prosecutors, and public officials from being maliciously exposed online.

HB1469 - Would expand the Sex Offender Registration Act to include human trafficking and involuntary servitude of minors.

HB1583 - Would allow schools to employ trained, certified school safety officers to keep children secure in the classroom.

HB3206 - Would increase penalties for fleeing from police to ensure dangerous drivers are held accountable.

And many more…

Everyone deserves to feel safe where they live. I will always fight for stronger laws, safer streets, and the peace of mind that every Illinois family deserves.
