Luis Díaz Jr. Received the 2026 Gustave Roussy Award

Luis Díaz Jr., MD, Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist, received the 2026 Gustave Roussy Prize, which honors oncology researchers whose scientific discoveries have significantly improved the lives of people with cancer. The prestigious €200,000 international award recognizes Dr. Díaz's landmark contributions to cancer research. Each year, the Gustave Roussy Foundation selects a prominent scientist whose breakthroughs in cancer diagnosis, treatment, or prevention have advanced patient care and deepened understanding of the disease.

Cardinale Smith Named Among "252 Chief Medical Officers to Know" by Becker's Hospital Review

Cardinale Smith, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer, was recognized as one of the hospital and health system Chief Medical Officers to know nationwide by Becker's Hospital Review. Leaders featured on this year's list are recognized for elevating patient safety, upholding rigorous quality standards, strengthening collaboration between executive leadership and medical staff, and guiding risk management efforts.

Miguel-Angel Perales Inducted Into the 2026 Class of ASTCT Fellows

Miguel-Angel Perales, MD, bone marrow transplant specialist, was inducted into the 2026 class of fellows of the American Society of Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT). Fellowship in ASTCT honors exceptional achievement and service in the fields of bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy.

Won Jun Kim Received Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award

Won Jun Kim, a student in the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program (Tri-I) and training at the Gerstner Sloan Kettering Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSK) in the The Omar Abdel-Wahab Lab, was named one of 12 recipients of the Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award. The annual award recognizes outstanding achievement by graduate students in the biological sciences. This year's honorees, selected from institutions across the United States, conducted research spanning tumor metabolism, sensory reception, and DNA replication. Won Jun's thesis focuses on mis-splicing-derived neoantigens and cognate T-cell receptors in splicing factor mutant leukemias.

Zsofia Stadler Named Next Editor-in-Chief of JCO Precision Oncology

Zsofia Stadler, MD, Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist, was named as the next editor-in-chief of JCO Precision Oncology, a journal of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), effective July 1. JCO Precision Oncology is a peer-reviewed, online-only journal that publishes original content that advances the science and practice of precision oncology and defines genomics and other biomarker-driven clinical care of patients with cancer.

MSK Named One of America's Best Large Employers by Forbes

MSK was recognized by Forbes as one of America's Best Large Employers. This recognition reflects MSK's continued commitment to delivering world-class patient care. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the ranking, which was based primarily on survey responses from more than 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies.

MSK Ranked Among World's Top Research Powerhouses by Clarivate

MSK was ranked 12th among the world's top 70 research institutions, according to an analysis by Clarivate identifying global "research powerhouses."
