PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2026) Service members, civilian employees and families gathered at the Presidio of Monterey Sept. 11 for a 9/11 Ruck & Lunch, a one-mile remembrance walk commemorating the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks and honoring those who lost their lives.

The Presidio of Monterey Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation hosted the Ruck & Lunch, which included remarks from Assistant Fire Chief Keith Fulton and a ceremony featuring a large American flag raised above Conrad field by PoM's fire engine. Fulton reflected on the sacrifices of first responders, including the 343 New York City firefighters who died responding to the attacks.
