"After listening to Governor Hochul's State of the State Address, it's clear she remains focused on the issues that hit home for families across New York. Many of her policy proposals directly support our shared goals around public safety, affordability, and overall quality of life. In the rapidly evolving social media landscape, we have a responsibility to protect our children from predators, scams, and increasingly sophisticated AI chatbots. Governor Hochul's proposed legislative package will help promote teen mental health and give parents the tools they need to ensure the safety of their kids. I'm also encouraged by the steps being taken to address the growing threat of 3D-printed ghost guns. Cracking down on their production and distribution will help us stay ahead of this dangerous trend. Finally, the push for universal childcare represents a major investment in working families. Expanding access will not only improve financial stability but will also create new economic opportunities for parents. I recognized this need in Albany County, which is why I opened Little Sprouts at Shaker Place, offering reliable daycare at subsidized rates for County employees. I look forward to working with the Governor and my colleagues in the state legislature to deliver real results for residents."
