Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Appoints Steve Glass as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) today announced the appointment of Steve Glass as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective immediately. Glass brings more than three decades of experience across the healthcare provider and payer sectors and will oversee MSK's financial strategy and operations.

Glass joins MSK following a distinguished career that includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of Cleveland Clinic from 2005 to 2022, where he managed the financial operations of one of the world's leading academic health systems. During his tenure, he partnered with clinical and operational leaders to support Cleveland Clinic's transformation from a largely Ohio-based organization with approximately $3 billion in revenue into a global healthcare enterprise with more than $13 billion in revenue by 2022, with operations spanning multiple states and countries.

From 2022 to 2024, Glass served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Medical Mutual Insurance Company, a large regional insurer based in Ohio. His earlier career included senior financial leadership roles within MedStar Health and its predecessor organizations, following the start of his healthcare career in Baltimore in 1988.

At MSK, Glass will work closely with leadership across the institution to support the organization's continued growth and mission to end cancer for life.

"Steve is a highly accomplished healthcare finance leader whose experience guiding complex, mission-driven organizations will be invaluable as MSK continues to grow and innovate," said Selwyn M. Vickers, MD, FACS, President and CEO of MSK. "His deep understanding of both the provider and payer landscapes will help strengthen our financial foundation as we advance our mission of ending cancer for life."

"MSK is one of the world's most respected cancer centers, and I am honored to join an organization with such a powerful mission," said Steve Glass. "I look forward to partnering with MSK's exceptional clinical, research, and operational leaders to support continued growth and ensure the institution remains well positioned to serve patients and advance cancer care globally."

Glass holds a Bachelor of Science from Towson University and has more than 37 years of experience in healthcare finance and operations.
