New comments and representations guidance and proposed shortening of the notice of application consultation period

We are seeking views on new guidance for comments and representations on licence applications and a shorter comment period.

Consultation description

We are seeking views on new guidance about comments and representations on licence applications. The guidance explains when and how stakeholders can submit comments and representations, how we consider them as part of our assessment process, and the types of matters we can and cannot consider.

We are also seeking views on reducing the non-statutory notice of application comment period from 28 calendar days to 15 working days. The proposed change would allow more time for active assessment within existing application processing timescales.

Who should respond

  • Energy industry stakeholders
  • Potential licence applicants
  • Parties who may wish to comment on applications

How to respond
