LIIF Leaders Tour Co-Location Housing Project for Families and Farmworkers

This week, Angie Garling, Senior Vice President, National ECE, joined partners from CRP Affordable Housing and Community Development ("CRP") and Visionary Home Builders ("VHB") in a site tour for their 430 W Wall project in Imperial, California. LIIF has provided CRP with a $750,000 unsecured predevelopment loan, in addition to early-stage financing for eight other California projects since 2023.

The project is the new construction of 78 units of affordable housing with co-located child care targeting large families, with 50% of the units set aside for farmworkers. Imperial is about 120 miles east of San Diego, and about 20 miles north of the Mexican border. This will be CRP's fourth project in Imperial. 83% of the project's units will be two- and three-bedroom units, with 39% of the units for families earning up to 30% of the area median income ("AMI"), and the remaining units will be for families earning up to 50% AMI. The Project is located near several grocery stores, a pharmacy, an elementary school, and other amenities that helped the project receive an allocation of 4% tax credits and bonds in May 2026
