U.S. 101 Accessibility and Roadway Improvement Project to begin in Hopland

U.S. 101 Accessibility and Roadway Improvement Project to begin in Hopland

Published: Jun 30, 2026

Starting Tuesday, July 7, construction crews will begin work on the Hopland ADA project along U.S. 101 in Mendocino County. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays from the Feliz Creek Bridge to north of First Street, during overnight hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Posted speed limits will be reduced to 25 mph during construction and motorists are asked to drive with caution in the work zone.

The project will operate on a continuous schedule, running 24 hours per day from Sunday at 8 p.m. through Friday at 7 p.m. This approach is intended to reduce the project timeline and enhance safety for both workers and the traveling public.

Parking and temporary access impacts may occur in the work area, but steps will be taken to reduce disruptions. Additional off-street parking has been made available with signage.

This project includes new sidewalks, driveway, and curb ramps that meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, rehabilitation of the existing roadway, and improvements that will enhance safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

OC Jones and Sons is the contractor for the $6.4 million project with completion scheduled for winter 2026.
