Ol’ Crimson flies in prime time

Washington State University spirit made a national appearance Sunday night when Ol' Crimson was spotted waving prominently during the Seattle Seahawks' prime-time game. The moment came courtesy of Jason Fox '96, a sociology alumnus who brought Cougar pride into the heart of the Hawks' north end zone.

Fox, whose family has held Seahawks season tickets since 1997, said recent seat changes placed them in an ideal location for the iconic flag. "Our seat location at the bottom row of the Hawks Nest right in the middle of the north goal posts were ideal to fly Ol' Crimson," Fox said. "This game was the perfect setting to make it happen - greater exposure, better timing, everything."

The moment also brought together Cougs from different generations. Fox connected at the game with Cameron Oppelt, a current Carson College of Business management information systems major, who was attending with family friends. Oppelt said the flag-flying drew instant attention. "Jason wanted everyone to know where he is, and the best way to do it was show our Cougar pride," Oppelt said. "It has been a fun and crazy experience."

The story originally appeared on the WSU Pullman Twitter/X account.

Did you see the Coug flag on TV during the @Seahawks game Sunday night? That was Jason Fox, '96 sociology. Jason even found another Coug in the same section, Cameron Oppelt, current @CarsonCollege MIS major (right on 2nd photo).
