United Bank Welcomes Edward Timberlake, Jr. as Gastonia Market President

GASTONIA, N.C. - United Bank recently welcomed Edward Timberlake, Jr., as Gastonia Market president. In this role, Timberlake will lead efforts to grow United's commercial and retail banking business in Gaston County, while strengthening the Bank's presence in the community. Additionally, he will represent United through civic engagement, professional organizations, and other community initiatives.

Timberlake is based in United's Gastonia office, which serves the Bank's customers throughout Gaston County, including Gastonia, Belmont, Lowell, Bessemer City, Kings Mountain, and surrounding areas.

Timberlake joins United Bank with more than 20 years of banking and community development experience, including nearly eight years in community business lending at Fifth Third Bank.

Throughout his career, Timberlake has been recognized for his commitment to expanding financial access and supporting underserved communities. He holds a Small Business Lending Certificate from Credit Risk Management and an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification from Grow America (formerly the National Development Council).

A High Point native, Timberlake graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in finance. He currently serves as chair of the board of C.W. Williams Community Health Center and on the board of Aspire Community Capital. Timberlake is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He and his daughter, Gia Elise, currently live in the Charlotte area and plan to relocate to Belmont.
