Subject to AS 38.05.555, this office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Department of Transportation & Public Facilities
PROJECT NAME: ADL 422796
DESIGNATED MATERIAL SITE: ADL 419703
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: MS 785-031-2 located at MP 79 on the east side of Taylor Highway
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within S1/2 SE1/4 NW1/4, E1/2 SE1/4 SW1/4 NW1/4, and SW1/4 NE1/4 of Section 33, Township 27 North, Range 19 East, Copper River Meridian, containing approximately 64.3 acres more or less.
QUANTITY REQUESTED: 100,000 cubic yards
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Office - Lands Section (NRO) has received an application for the extraction of material from a designated material site, ADL 419703. DOT&PF has requested to blast hard rock and extract riprap and gravel from this material site.
REQUESTED TERM: 5-year contract
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Please submit comments by 5:00pm on March 18, 2026.
DMLW is seeking information related to the extraction of material from this site that may assist in the development of specific operating/reclamation requirements for the site, or identifying any multiple land use issues that may need to be addressed prior to issuance of this or future contracts.
To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. Comments or questions about this activity should be directed to Lisa Winter 907-451-2745; Fax: 907-451-2751 or e-mail: [email protected].
After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
DNR-DMLW complies with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Individuals with disabilities who may need auxiliary aids, services or special modifications to comment should contact Alaska Relay at 711 or 800-770-8973 for TTY services.
The DMLW reserves the right to waive technical defects in this notice.
