WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Chuck Edwards (NC-11) announced the release of nearly $260 million in FEMA Public Assistance funds to support ongoing hurricane recovery efforts in North Carolina. Funding secured for Western North Carolina includes:

$2,718,498 to Madison County for emergency support and disaster recovery assistance.

$1,443,996 to the Town of Old Fort for local recovery and infrastructure needs.

$1,230,371 to the French Broad Electric Membership Corporation for infrastructure restoration and power system recovery.

$1,223,188 to the City of Brevard for Hillview Road repairs and local recovery efforts.

$1,611,449 to Yancey County for waterway debris removal operations.

$5,017,719 to the City of Asheville for debris removal operations.

$124,298,324 to North Carolina Emergency Management for statewide emergency response, disaster recovery, debris removal, protective measures, and large-scale recovery operations across impacted counties.

$1,410,782 to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services for public health support and recovery services in affected communities.

$18,119,294 to North Carolina Department of Transportation for permanent repairs and bridge restoration on key routes in Buncombe County including Ivy Hill Road, Hobson Road, Lower Flat Creek Bridge, Whitaker Road, Kirstein Road, Warren Wilson Road, Summer Haven Road, and multiple state routes, as well as additional Buncombe County infrastructure and bridge projects.

$9,428,597 to North Carolina Department of Transportation for critical infrastructure repairs in Yancey County including Bakers Creek Road, Blue Rock Road Bridge, and multiple state routes (1136, 1137, 1377, 1382, 1383).

$10,159,204 to North Carolina Department of Transportation for bridge restoration and infrastructure recovery in Mitchell County, including Whitson Branch Bridge, Hughes Gap Road Bridge, and regional temporary bridge replacements spanning McDowell, Mitchell, and Rutherford Counties.

$4,029,568 to North Carolina Department of Transportation for bridge restoration and roadway repairs in Haywood County on SR 1306 Evan Cove Bridge, SR 1500 Poplar Cove Road Bridge, and SR 1505 Bald Creek Road Bridge.

$2,392,884 to the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources for emergency support and a temporary access bridge.
Congressman Edwards worked directly with Department of Homeland Security leadership and FEMA officials to secure and expedite the release of these funds, ensuring Western North Carolina communities receive the resources needed to rebuild and recover.
