Warren Statement on New Independent Report on SEC Enforcement Collapse

Washington, DC - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, issued the following statement on the release of a new independent report on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)'s enforcement data:

"President Trump has taken the Wall Street cop off the beat, putting Americans' investments and retirement savings at risk. After Chair Atkins misled Congress and the public earlier this year about the SEC's enforcement collapse, this new independent report confirms that Trump's SEC is giving a free pass to fraudsters."

Earlier this year, Ranking Member Warren repeatedly pressed Chair Atkins to release the SEC's delayed enforcement data, and then questioned him about misleading Congress about record low enforcement data.
