WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), a member of the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees, sent a letter to Attorney General Pamela Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel demanding answers about newly released emails and long-standing allegations that raise serious questions about President Donald Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein and the federal government's handling of the Epstein files.
The letter cites newly released emails showing that President Trump spent hours alone with a victim(s) of Epstein's abuse, as well as decades of documented behavior, lawsuits, and allegations connecting Trump to Epstein.
Rep. Crockett's letter questions why DOJ and the FBI have withheld the context in which the President's name appears in the Epstein files and why federal agencies appear to be "taking the indefensible position of keeping the American people in the dark and shielding all those involved with Mr. Epstein's crimes from accountability."
"We're talking about decades of allegations and survivors who've waited long enough. You can't claim to serve justice while keeping the public in the dark. Every delay, every dodge, only raises more questions-so release the files and let the American people see the truth, said Rep. Crockett.
The letter notes that with House Republicans finally returning from their eight week taxpayer-funded vacation and swearing in Rep. Adelita Grijalva, 218 Members of the House-collectively representing more than 150 million Americans-have now signed a discharge petition to force a floor vote that would require DOJ and the FBI to release the Epstein files.
