Rep. Elik Tours Braidwood Nuclear Plant

October 10, 2025

State Representative Amy Elik toured the Braidwood Nuclear Plant in Will County. The plant is getting ready to undergo the scheduled refueling of one of its two units.

"It was amazing to see," said Rep. Elik. "We got to see the massive turbines that power the units and provide power to northern Illinois. We saw the control room and the giant lake which circulates the plant's water. The security was intense, and the plant was full of professionals who take pride in their jobs."
