On 1 July, Eurochambres and European Parliament Vice-President Victor Negrescu will bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, apprentices and skills stakeholders for the event Funding mobility, driving competitiveness at the European Parliament Info Hub in Brussels (and online).
The event will explore how mobility programmes contribute to skills development, innovation and competitiveness by creating opportunities for entrepreneurs, apprentices and vocational education and training (VET) learners.
Against the backdrop of ongoing discussions on the Fair Labour Mobility Package and the next Multiannual Financial Framework, participants will discuss how EU mobility programmes can continue to deliver value for learners, businesses and the wider economy.
The programme will feature contributions from the European Commission. They will provide insights into current and upcoming EU initiatives linked to mobility, skills and competitiveness, including Erasmus+, the Skills Portability Initiative and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.
A key part of the event will be dedicated to hearing directly from beneficiaries. Entrepreneurs who have participated in Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs and apprentices and VET learners with Erasmus+ mobility experience will share their personal stories, highlighting how mobility has helped them develop skills, gain new perspectives and strengthen their professional opportunities.
The programme will conclude with an interactive discussion with participants, offering an opportunity to exchange views on the future of mobility programmes, barriers to participation, SME engagement and the role of mobility in supporting Europe's competitiveness agenda.
This event is part of the European Skills & VET Week 2026, an initiative of the European Commission organised by Cedefop. Join us on 1 July to discuss why investing in mobility means investing in Europe's future skills, talent and competitiveness.
