Scribendi is a National Pacemaker Award finalist

The most recent edition of Scribendi, a national literary and fine arts magazine based at The University of New Mexico Honors College, has been announced as a finalist for the Associated Collegiate Press' 2025 Pacemaker award. This prestigious national award is given annually to collegiate publications for the design, contents, and overall quality of their work.

It is competing against 14 other literary magazines in its category, of which four will receive the award. The winners will be announced Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Fall National College Media Convention in Washington, D.C.

Scribendi has been a finalist eight times and won the award three times with the 2022 edition, Volume 36, being the most recent to earn the Pacemaker.

The magazine is currently accepting submissions from honors students nationwide in short fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, photography, visual art, foreign language, and open media for its 40th edition. Submissions can be made at scribendi.unm.edu. The deadline to submit is Oct. 10.
