SR 400 Express Lanes October 2026 Newsletter

S1

All Segments:

Work continues throughout all segments in October as crews continue tree clearing, moving and grading soil, installing concrete barriers, adding lane striping, and installing drainage, all in preparation to begin constructing the outside lanes. Retaining wall construction has also begun in Segments B and C, along with bridge construction starting at Union Hill in Segment C. All current and upcoming work will focus on the outside widening.

S2

Alpharetta/Dryden Road:

Beginning Wednesday, November 4, crews will begin early construction for the future Windward Parkway Park & Ride dedicated bus lanes. A portion of the southbound Dryden Road sidewalk between Morris Road and Lighthouse Lane will be closed Wednesday, November 4, through Friday, November 13. The northbound sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.

Please see map below for details.

S3

The primary entrance to the Roswell Police Department and Roswell Summit buildings from Holcomb Bridge Road westbound closed on October 12 and will remain closed for approximately two years to accommodate SR 400 Express Lanes project construction. Access to both facilities will remain available via Old Dogwood Road throughout the closure.

A portion of the sidewalk on Holcomb Bridge Road westbound between Dogwood Road and the main entrance to the Roswell Police Department also closed, and a signed pedestrian detour is in place. The MARTA bus stop will remain open.

As part of the project, a new entrance and sidewalk along Holcomb Bridge Road will be constructed. For more information and to view detour maps, please visit the project website.

Watch Out for Blind Spots!

Large construction vehicles are a common sight along the SR 400 corridor, but what motorists may not realize is just how limited visibility can be from inside heavy equipment.

Dump trucks, excavators, and other construction vehicles have large blind spots that can make nearby vehicles difficult for operators to see.

As equipment enters and exits work areas, motorists should avoid lingering alongside construction vehicles and give them plenty of room to maneuver. If you can't see the operator or the vehicle's mirrors, there's a good chance they can't see you either.

With the holiday travel season approaching, traffic volumes are expected to increase on area roadways. Help keep everyone safe by giving construction vehicles extra space and allowing room for them to enter and exit work zones safely.
