On January 26, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated and delivered opening remarks at the event dedicated to the official launch of the realization of the UNICEF Country Programme Document for cooperation with Armenia for the 2026-2030 period that was organized jointly with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Office in Armenia.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia noted in his speech that the Country Program Document (CPD) reflects the main vectors of ongoing cooperation over the next five years, emphasizing that it aligns with the priorities of the Republic of Armenia and sectoral mid-term strategies. It is based on the significant progress that has been achieved, structural reforms, as well as essential domestic legislation governing the field and already fulfilled international commitments.
Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to protecting the rights of the child, as well as ensuring the necessary conditions for education, health, growing up in a family, and harmonious development.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia emphasized the role of the UNICEF Office in Armenia in providing rapid response in crisis situations, including short-term support to children and adolescents, who constitute a large number among refugees, as well as in implementing programs aimed at their full integration in the longer term.
The event was also attended by high-ranking officials and representatives of the Armenia's public administration bodies and competent agencies, ambassadors and diplomatic representatives accredited in the Republic of Armenia.
