Choosing a Halloween costume can be challenging. The holiday presents countless options, from holiday standbys like ghosts and vampires to those inspired by the latest pop culture trends. It's one of the most exciting times of the year, but the pressure to find the perfect costume can be overwhelming. Fortunately, BU junior John Philbin (CAS'27) has come up with 10 fantastic Halloween costume ideas . Let's dive in!

1.

Labubu

These adorable children's toys have proven a hit across various age groups. Their cute designs and viral popularity have turned them into a pop culture phenomenon. This costume is a blast, and you can easily find a Labubu jumpsuit on Amazon. While it might be a bit pricey, it's a fun way to add a quirky and enjoyable twist to your night out!

Krispy Kreme Woman (Right… right…)

Even years after Krispy Kreme first launched this commercial, the impact that this woman has had on my life is undeniable. I still firmly believe that she is hugely relevant in today's society, even though I still don't know if a Krispy Kreme doughnut is, in fact, crispy. Dressing like her certainly makes a statement, and all you need is a red turtleneck and some cute jewelry!

Glinda & Elphaba from Wicked

Is anyone else excited for Wicked: For Good to hit the big screen in November? It's the perfect excuse to grab a friend and dress up as Glinda and Elphaba this Halloween-an iconic duo that everyone on campus will instantly recognize.

Natasha Bedingfield (67)

Who would have imagined that Natasha Bedingfield would make her comeback in the music industry by performing "Doot Doot (67)" by Skrilla on stage? I certainly didn't. But one thing I know is that using your best black clothes and a cheap microphone, you can be just as iconic as this 2025 pop culture moment.

Just Vote

On November 11, it will have been six years since the iconic "fish girl," formally known as Jordyn, graced the internet. I don't think I'll ever forget this episode of the YouTube channel show Jubilee. Do you guys also love fish? Or ocean facts? Then JUST VOTE and buy a pair of overalls and a print T-shirt to dress as the iconic "fish girl."

Ina Garten from The Food Network

If you remember watching Barefoot Contessa on The Food Network as a child when your mom left it on, this will definitely resonate with you. All you need is a purple button-down shirt, nice pants, and a bob wig to look just like the Emmy-winning cookbook author and TV food host. Get out there and strut your stuff!

Aunt Gladys from Weapons

The 2025 film Weapons made such a big impact on the world. While one of the film's most memorable characters, Aunt Gladys, was chaotic and not a particularly good person, she was pivotal to the film's plot. Her quirky antics and unhinged personality are both charming and terrifying. Because of this, she redefined the horror genre in 2025. If you want a costume that is fun but will also freak the heck out of your friends, this is for you.

Mark & Helly from Severance

This is such a good example of how a simple costume can really make a statement. Severance really made strides in 2025, and all you need for this costume is business attire-which you'll need anyway if you're interviewing for summer internships or jobs! Questrom majors, this should be easy for you. Also, don't forget your key-card lanyard!

Patrick with High Heels

The scene from The SpongeBob Movie where Patrick dances in high heels taught me the true meaning of how to "EAT", even when I was just a child. It's firmly etched in my memory now. SpongeBob fans, all you need is a starfish costume and a pair of very, very, very high heels! It's an easy costume choice, particularly if you want to "SERVE" on Halloween Night.
