The City of Grande Prairie is advising residents, businesses and commuters of upcoming sewer replacement work that will require a temporary road closure on 102 Avenue between 101 Street and 102 Street from June 15 to 22.
The work, being completed by a third-party contractor, is expected to take approximately seven days, weather permitting, and will require a full closure of the roadway during construction. No detours are expected, as local access will remain available through nearby laneways.
Temporary fencing will be installed around the work area during excavation, and the site will be secured at the end of each workday. Once the sewer replacement and backfilling work are complete, the roadway will be restored by a separate paving crew.
Area businesses are expected to remain accessible throughout the project.
Work is scheduled daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution near the work zone and allow extra travel time when travelling in the area.
