Lincoln University Expands Academic Offerings at Fort Leonard Wood for Fall 2026

Lincoln University of Missouri and Fort Leonard Wood are expanding educational opportunities for military personnel, veterans and the surrounding community through a new partnership that supports enrollment in Lincoln University's Security Sciences Institute certificate programs.

A Memorandum of Agreement between Lincoln University and Fort Leonard Wood took effect June 23, expanding access to career-focused education for military personnel, veterans and the surrounding community. Classes for the fall semester began Monday, Aug. 17.

Students can enroll in three high-demand Security Sciences Institute certificate programs:

• Cybersecurity Certificate - Provides hands-on training in digital defense, information protection and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Mental Health for First Responders Certificate - Equips first responders and public safety professionals with the knowledge to recognize and respond to mental health challenges affecting emergency personnel.
• Geospatial Information Science (GIS) Certificate - Introduces students to mapping, spatial analysis and data-driven decision-making used across industries, including emergency management, public safety and environmental planning.

All three certificate programs are offered fully online and are designed to be completed in one semester, providing flexible options for military personnel, veterans, working adults and other students in the Fort Leonard Wood area.

In addition to the new Security Sciences Institute certificates, Lincoln University continues to offer healthcare education through its School of Nursing, including the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing, the RN-to-BSN program and the Master of Science in Nursing.

Lincoln University also offers in-person workforce training at its St. Robert location, including the Emergency Medical Technician certificate program and the Lincoln University Law Enforcement Training Academy (LULETA).
