On Friday, President Gitanas Nausėda congratulated President Bajram Begaj and all the people of Albania on Independence Day.
In his letter, the President said that Lithuania and Albania enjoy friendly bilateral relations grounded in the closeness of the two countries' views, solidarity and shared values.
"I greatly appreciate our successful cooperation at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, especially within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization," the President's letter reads.
The President emphasized that Lithuania believes in Albania's future in the European Union (EU). This requires continued momentum in implementing reforms and success in finding solutions that will pave the way for further progress. Albania's consistent support for Ukraine, condemnation of Russian aggression, and support for EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus are strong expressions of its commitment to EU values.
"I firmly believe that our nations - united by a friendship founded on shared values - will continue to strengthen bilateral dialogue in all areas and, through joint efforts, contribute to ensuring the security and well-being of our peoples," the President's message reads.
