Fatal Shooting Investigation Ongoing
DENTON, TX, Oct. 31, 2025 - The Denton Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday morning in South Denton.
Officers were dispatched at 4:52 a.m. to the 4600 block of Merlot Drive, where they found a man bleeding on the sidewalk outside of a house. Medics located an apparent gunshot wound and pronounced the man deceased on scene.
A woman, who resides at the house, was identified as the shooter and is cooperating with the investigation.
Detectives have determined this was an isolated incident between two individuals who knew each other, with no active threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will release the victim's identity after next of kin has been notified.
