Meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan
On February 3, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Beibut Atamkulov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the current state of bilateral cooperation on Afghanistan was discussed. Sides underscored their interest in continuing regular dialogue on the resolution of the Afghan issue.
B.Atamkulov highly appreciated Uzbekistan's efforts aimed at shaping a unified regional position on Afghanistan.
An exchange of views also took place on the prospects for involving Afghanistan in the processes of regional connectivity, in particular regarding the implementation of the Trans-Afghan railway project.
The meeting was held in a constructive spirit and confirmed mutual interest in further developing practical dialogue between Tashkent and Astana.
