Part of West Florida Street Closed Due to Water Main Break

All lanes of the 1200 block of West Florida Street, between Glenwood Avenue and Willomore Street, are closed due to a six-inch water main break. Approximately 25 customers are without service.

City crews will be on-site until repairs are completed, and the lanes reopened, which is expected by 7 pm tonight. Signs and traffic cones are in place, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. See the map below for the location.

If you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after the repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until clear.

For water and sewer emergencies, including main breaks and sewer stoppages, or changes in taste, odor, or color of drinking water, call Water Resources 24-hour Dispatch at 336-373-2033.
