SCO Secretary-General meets with representatives of China's tourism industry

On March 5, 2026, a meeting between Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev and Chairwoman of the Board of China Tourism Travel Services Zheng Lijuan took place at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.

The Secretary-General informed about the legal foundations and priority areas of SCO cooperation in tourism, including the activities of the relevant mechanism - meetings of heads of tourism administrations of the SCO member states. Special attention was paid to the potential for strengthening ties between the relevant bodies and travel agencies of the "SCO family" countries, including closer involvement of dialogue partners in this process.

Zheng Lijuan shared information about the potential of domestic and outbound tourism in China, ongoing events, and implemented international projects. He expressed interest in the participation of China Tourism Travel Services, as a leading Chinese tour operator, in the development of practical cooperation in the SCO format.

China Tourism Travel Services is the largest tour operator in China, part of the state holding China Tourism Group.
