Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents donation to OISCA (Thailand) in support of the Environmental Restoration and Community Development Project in Chiang Rai province
On 26 September 2025, Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, presided over a ceremony to present the Ministry's donation of 500,000 baht to OISCA (Thailand), in support of the Environmental Restoration and Community Development Project in Mae Suai district, Chiang Rai province, which will be used to reforest 25 Rai of land. H.E. Mr. Otaka Masato, Ambassador of Japan to Thailand was also present to witness this important occasion.
The donation, initiated by the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, was also presented on the date which marks the 138th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan. This collaboration represents the unique relationship between the two countries, which is based on a solid foundation of cooperation across all social sectors. Thailand and Japan share a common goal of promoting sustainable development to benefit their peoples for generations to come. In 2070, both countries will celebrate their 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the young trees planted today will be a part of that significant milestone.
