Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 4:51 p.m.
On November 8th, 2025 shortly after midnight, SPD responded to the area of 2nd and Wall on a report of a loud noise or a possible shooting. 911 received calls regarding a loud "bang" and that a victim was observed walking in the area with visible injuries. As officers arrived at the location, they were advised it was not a gun shot and the victim had already been transported to a local hospital.
Officers would learn that a vehicle pulled up near a group of people. A lit firework or similar item was thrown from the vehicle into the crowd before driving away. The object exploded causing severe injuries to a male on the sidewalk. The severity of the injuries required the victim to be transported to Harborview Medical Center.
Witness interviews and a canvass of the area resulted in security photos of what is described as the suspect vehicle. Investigators with the SPD Major Crimes Unit (MCU) are asking anyone with information about the incident or if you recognize the pictured vehicle to please contact Crime Check at 509 456-2233.
