River Welcomes Three New Team Members

Chattanooga, TN, May 19, 2026

River Associates Investments, L.P., a long-standing lower middle market private equity firm, is pleased to announce the expansion of its team with the addition of Kirby Crutchfield Poindexter as Vice President of Business Development, and Matt McMahan and Colby Turner as Associates.

The firm's decision to continue expanding its team supports future growth by bolstering both business development efforts and investment team capacity.

Kirby Crutchfield Poindexter, Vice President of Business Development, will be responsible for developing relationships with intermediaries and increasing the firm's investment pipeline. She will work alongside Mark Jones, Partner, who has 31 years of experience at River Associates, to further enhance the firm's sourcing capabilities.

Previously, Kirby worked at EBSCO Capital, a family office in Birmingham, AL. During that time, she led deal sourcing and origination for both new platforms and existing portfolio companies, as well as their marketing efforts. She received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Auburn University.

Matt McMahan, Associate, will be involved in evaluating new investment opportunities, executing transactions, and supporting portfolio company initiatives. Matt was formerly an Investment Banking Senior Analyst at Truist Securities in the Consumer & Retail Group, where he was involved in the execution of a variety of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Matt received a B.S. in Economics and a M.S. in Economic Analytics from Clemson University, where he was a member of the varsity football team.

Colby Turner, Associate, will evaluate and execute new investments while providing portfolio company support. Colby previously worked with FTI Consulting in Atlanta, GA, as a Director in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring Practice. During that time, Colby advised publicly traded and private equity-backed companies on cost optimization, revenue growth initiatives, and due diligence engagements. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from the Georgia Institute of Technology with concentrations in Finance and Strategy & Innovation.
