NAMPA - The Idaho Transportation Department will begin milling and paving Interstate 84 between the Garrity and Ten Mile interchanges Tuesday, June 9. The work will result in nighttime lane closures between Exit 38 and Exit 42.
Crews will mill to remove the top layer of the existing roadway and place new asphalt. This work will also remove old lane markings and black paint that caused driver confusion earlier this month. Repaving will extend the life of the pavement and is scheduled to be completed this summer.
Construction will take place during the following hours:
Monday through Thursday nights:
Eastbound I-84
8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Westbound I-84
10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Friday and Saturday nights:
Eastbound I-84
10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Westbound I-84
11 p.m. to 10 a.m.
Lane closures may begin as early as 7 p.m. Crews will shift traffic to ensure two lanes of remain open in each direction at all times.
Ongoing nighttime lane restrictions on I-84 will continue through summer as crews continue construction of the State Highway 16 and I-84 Interchange which will open in 2007.
Drivers are encouraged to plan extra time when traveling through the area at night and check 511.idaho.gov or the 511 mobile app for the latest updates on restrictions and delays.
